Ukraine’s ferroalloys producers remain behind the last year’s dynamics, results of January-February 2004

According to the results of 2 months 2004, Ukraine’s producers of ferroalloys remain reducing production against the results of 2003. According to Metallurgprom Production Association, in January-February 2004 Ukraine reduced production of ferroalloys by -22 ths t against the results of the analogous period of 2003. During the period under review, the average monthly production of ferroalloys made up 92.3% of the level of 2003. At that, Ukraine’s export of ferroalloys exceeded the average monthly figure of 2003 by +0.4%. At the same time, domestic supplies and imports are considerably lower, than last year. At the same time, Ukraine’s production of steel increased by +5.1%. In total, taking into account import supplies, the average monthly supplies of ferroalloys to the domestic market of Ukraine made up 68.9% of the level of 2003.
