Alchevsk ISW plans production rise, outlook to 2006.

Till 2006 Alchevsk ISW plans to increase sinter production capacity by +10-15% – up to 5.9-6.1 mn t per year due to the reconstruction of returning block in sinter production. General investment program at Alchevsk ISW, estimated as USD 350 mn, is expected to be fulfilled by 2007 and will allow to double the Works’ output.

In the beginning of current year the Works started modernization at the mill-2800, which is expected to be completed in 2004. After modernization the mill is going to increased rolled metal production by +83% up to 963 ths t per year.

For reference. Alchevsk ISW is finished metallurgical cycle enterprise, which is Ukraine’s monopolist on the production of stainless steel plates, special purposed steel, and also steel shot. It production facilities allow to produce about 50 ths t of stainless steel plates with thickness 5-20 mm annually, 20 ths t of steel two-ply sheet (only production in Ukraine) and 30-35 ths t of steel shot (only production in CIS).
