Slow down in Ukraine’s steel tube production growth.

According to Metallurgprom Production Association, in January-February 2004 Ukraine’s production of steel tubes made up only 84% to the level of the analogous period of 2003. From the point of average monthly production results, production of the period under review makes up 66.5% of the results of 2003. Respectively, exports also reduced and made up 61.2% to the results of the analogous period of 2003. At the same time, cutting of domestic supplies is also observed because of price rising. This is evidenced by a 20% fall (against 2003) in average monthly supplies. At the same time, imports of steel tubes increased up to 118.5% of the average monthly level of 2003.
